Heat Recovery Ventilators (HRV)

We breathe HVAC

There are partial solutions to indoor air problem. For example, an electrostatic will reduce air borne contaminants, but it won't remove moisture, stale air or gaseous pollutants. Local exhaust fans removes excess moisture, but create negative pressure. As a result, the resultant vacuum slowly draws air into, bringing odors, dust & contaminants with it.

A better whole-house solution is to create balanced ventilation. One fan blows the stale air out while another replaces it with fresh. Ofcourse, if the fresh air is warm, you need to cool it down, that costs money.
